Statement from the Chief Justice - Guide to Judicial Conduct

I am pleased to share the publication of the new Guide to Judicial Conduct.

The Guide provides principled and practical guidance for judicial officers about appropriate conduct, the matters to be considered when navigating difficult ethical issues, and where support is available when needed.

Updates in this edition include guidance on judicial education, the use of artificial intelligence, workplace behaviour and professional welfare. I am pleased to see that the Commission’s work in recent years has been picked up in the revised edition.

The Guide continues to be a valuable resource as we continue to uphold the high standard of judicial conduct the Victorian community deserves.
