The Commission may appoint an investigating panel to investigate matters which could, if substantiated, warrant the removal of an officer from office on the grounds of proved misbehaviour or incapacity.
An investigating panel consists of three members appointed by the Commission:
- one member being a former judicial officer or VCAT member;
- one member being a former or current judicial officer or VCAT member; and
- one member being a person of high standing in the community selected from the pool of persons appointed by the Governor in Council for this purpose.
